Desert Lights & Cozy Nights: Merry Christmas from Train Station Pest Elimination—TSPE Gold
Howdy, neighbors —
When December rolls through the Valley of the Sun, we may not be dustin’ off snow shovels — but Phoenix sure knows how to shine. From festive lights twinklin’ over desert homes to cozy nights under clear skies, the season reminds us that Arizona’s holiday spirit burns bright. To our Train Station Pest Elimination customers, our TSPE Gold members and all or North Phoenix neighbors, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year filled with peace and good cheer.
Back before Phoenix was the big city it is now, Christmas meant families gatherin’ close under a mesquite tree instead of a fir. Folks in Scottsdale strung popcorn garlands and paper stars and if they were lucky enough to have electricity — like Garfield and Brentwood — they’d wrap a few bulbs ‘round a barrel cactus or hang lanterns from their porches to guide guests in from the dark.

Here’s to peaceful nights, bright mornings, and a brand-new year full of health and happiness.
Some years, when a rare chill swept down from the Rim Country, a light dustin’ of frost would settle on the rooftops and kids would run outside hollerin’ that it had “snowed!” It might’ve melted before sunrise, but it sure made memories that lasted longer than any store-bought gift.
Today, we still gather under twinklin’ lights — only now they hang from saguaros, palm trees, and backyard pergolas. There’s laughter on every patio, the smell of tamales and pecan pie drifts through the neighborhood, and folks swap smiles as they stroll through desert light displays with hot cocoa in hand.

If you find yourself in Cave Creek holiday shopping, stop by Carefree Coffee Roastery — you’ll likely find a tree trimmed with lights and ornaments, a little holiday music hummin’ in the background, and neighbors catchin’ up over steaming mugs. It’s the kind of scene that reminds us that Christmas, no matter the century, is still about connection — to family, to community, and to the land we call home.
Fun Fact, Did Ya Know?
Arizona’s Desert Christmas Trees
Back in the 1940s, when pine trees were scarce and pricey to haul into town, Phoenix families started deckin’ out their saguaros instead. They’d climb up ladders, wrap colored lights and shiny tinsel around those tall green arms, and call it their “Desert Christmas Tree.” To this day, folks across Arizona still carry on that tradition — some neighborhoods even hold friendly contests for the brightest, most creative cactus in the desert.

🤠 From Our Family to Yours
As we wrap up another year, all of us here at Train Station Pest Elimination want to thank our Phoenix neighbors for lettin’ us be part of your story — protectin’ your homes, sharin’ your smiles, and buildin’ a community that feels like family.
Here’s to peaceful nights, bright mornings, and a brand-new year full of health and happiness. 🎄✨
